UN names new adviser for Cambodia Khmer Rouge trials

David Scheffer, the former US ambassador-at-large for war

crime issues was appointed as the new adviser for the Cambodia Khmer rouge trial which have been going on for so many decades. If you've read the history of the Phnom penh genocide, you will understand what I am talking about. If not, here's a brief summary. This fella called Pol Pot was not happy with the rich. So he decided to use the poor and form the Khmer Rouge to execute government officials at the torture center which was once a school. The rest that disobeyed him would be killed together with their families at the killing field which was before a cementry. He killed about 2 million people, AWESOME ACHIEVEMENT THERE! I can't do that. That's all that I'm gonna say. Nuon Chea, Khieu Samphan and Ieng Sary were leaders of the Khmer Rouge. They will be going on trial this week for the regime that happened like 42 years ago or so. FOR WHAT!? SO OLD ALR! -.-

PIPA and SOPA protest

The 24 hour blacked-out of 7000 sites happened yesterday. One of the biggest site to join the protest was wikipedia. After the black-put, 8 US law makes decided to retreat form the support for anti-piracy laws. Stop Online Piracy Act (Sopa) and the Senate's Protect Intellectual Property Act (Pipa). Motion pictures of America had criticised the lack-out as an act of irresponsibility and stunt. The black-out was also criticised as a gimmick that was designed to punish elected and administration officials who are working diligently to protect American jobs from foreign criminals.

Rising rate of abortion

Statistics of 28 per 1000 women goes for an abortion per year and it's affecting women's health. Illegal abortions is on the rise as well. Which means that there's a higher risk of death because it has a higher chance of getting and infection or excessive bleeding. 95% of abortions in Latin America, 40% in Asia, 15% in Oceania and 9% in Europe is unsafe. Researchers found the statistics very disturbing. British aid are planning to expose 10 million women to modern contraceptives to stop pregnancies on the rise.
