I'm bored so yeah I posted this to curb the boredom.
So discrimination of females started decades ago even with the Egyptians. Even though most well-known pharaohs that we know of are males there are actually female pharaohs it just goes to show how then don't want history to remember there was a female pharaoh because they believed in ancient Egypt that only males had the right to rule and this of course is also a form of discrimination. So there was this princess called Hatshepsut who had ambitions of ruling Egypt. When her father, Tuthmosis I was on his death bed he left the throne to her little brother, Tuthmosis II and Hatshepsut was furious so Senenmut, her teacher said in a matter-of-fact way that only a man could be pharaoh. She was to marry her brother and rule till he is old enough to do so. Tuthmosis II lived up to 30 and won battles in Syria and Nubia after all that fighting though he was bound to be too weak to live and left the throne to his son, Tuthmosis III. Hatshepsut saw this chance and announced that the throne was left to her.She was crowned and a lot of carvings of her were made.Of course, young Tuthmosis III was pissed when he learned that his aunt took the crown which was rightfully his. Hatshepsut lived to a ripe old age,to make him even more pissed until she was poisoned apparently by him. She died in 1458 BC at around the age of 80. He then tried to make the world forget that Hatshepsut was a king and ordered all carvings showing her as a king be smashed. However this plan didn't work. Her temple at Karnak has withstood the test of time and people take more notice of her carvings because Tuthmosis had them smashed.
In this case,Tuthmosis III failed to erase all traces of Hatshepsut as a pharaoh but as it can be seen in history, females have been discriminated even from ancient times so if this is to be changed something must be done to go down in history because basically people tend to learn from history in order not to repeat the mistakes of the past.
